Running on Carbs is a personal blog that I started when I began training for my first marathon. I wanted a place to document my full experience. My spiral bound running log book just wasn’t enough space for all the “feels” I wanted to share. I needed a space to talk about the emotions, the physical effects, the impact on relationships and time, and about food as it relates to running and training. Hence, Running on Carbs was born.
As a 40+ woman who started running later in life (AKA: an adult onset runner), I found my journey to be a zig zag line fraught with injuries, weight fluctuations and time demands. I know I’m not alone in this and my hope is that other women can share in my triumphs and commiserate with me in my low points (it’s nice to have moral support).
In August of 2017 I chose to alter my eating style to improve my health by eliminating all animal products from my diet. Running on Carbs is my way of sharing recipes and tips for how I incorporate plant-based eating into my training and lifestyle.
My hope for this blog is that others will find it, read my day to day journey and be encouraged to start a journey of their own.
